お部屋も禁煙

I bought new lace curtains and lightproof ones for the biggest window of my room and replaced old ones with them yesterday.
Needless to say, there's not as many windows in my room as I have to write it as "the biggest window," though.
Also I washed all the other curtains this morning, so my room is now filled with fresh and smoke-free air.
I didn't notice until now that my curtains had smelt of tobacco smoke that badly.
It's shocking to me because I relatively often washed them and tried to smoke as little as possible in my room, and as much as possible under the fan in the kitchen, and especially because I'd never let anyone including myself blow smoke full of nicotine in the same room where Ruu the budgerigar was; besides, he spends almost all of his time there.
Thinking everything in my room, like the wallpaper, the kotatsu futon, my favorite sofa and so on, must have taken on the odor of cigarettes, I came to want to wash the whole room, seriously.

And one more thing that's lifting my spirits so much is this sunny weather like spring days!
Keititu, the day on which insects are said to begin coming out from the ground in spring, is March 6th, so lots of seeds and insects may have already started preparing to welcome the coming spring under the ground.

左右で一組のカーテンは "curtains" でいいんでしょうか？　"a pair of curtain" じゃなくて？
、『部屋ではできるだけ煙草を吸わず、台所の換気扇の下で吸うようにした』 を "tried to smoke as little as possible in my room, and as much as possible under the fan in the kitchen" とするのは無理がありそうですね・・・。
"tried to smoke not in my room but under the fan in the kitchen to the extent that I could" とかの方がまだマシ？
う～ん、英語って難しい。

それにしても、交換したり洗ったり、部屋中のカーテンから煙草の臭いを一気に撃退しただけで、ヨーデルでも歌い出したくなるくらいの清々しさです。
マメに洗濯したり、部屋の空気を入れかえたり、ファブリーズしたりしてたつもりだけど、やっぱり煙草の臭いって強烈なんですね。
部屋を丸ごと洗いたくなってしまいました。
そして何より、部屋自体を禁煙にしてやろうかと計画中。
（今でもルー君と同じ空間での喫煙は厳禁です。 ）
